Gull Lake has held a special attraction for people for over 100
years. Early visitors arrived by rail car and electric line at
the old Yorkville Station. From there, steamer boats took visitors
to various resorts and hotels located around the lake.
Today, these attractions are a thing of the past, but beautiful
shoreline and island homes remain as permanent and seasonal residences.
Pristine Gull Lake has been named in National Geographic as one
of the premier inland lakes in the nation.
This crystal clear lake is fed by four different streams and
underground springs. It is approximately 6.5 miles long and over
a mile wide. Maximum depth is 110 feet and boasts 55 species of
fish. There is only one major access to the lake, making property
on the lake in high demand, and continually increasing in value.
The Laughing
Gull Marina is a beautiful facility offering full sales, service, and storage for
your watercraft. Gull
Lake Country Club is located on the western shore of Gull Lake, and offers sailing,
raquet sports, yacht club, and a world class golf course. The entire lake is within the
award winning Gull
Lake Community School System, and is adjacent to the Gull
Lake View Golf Club and Resort consisting of five championship eighteen hole golf
courses. Nearby is the Barn
Theatre, which is listed on the State Register of Historic Sites as the home of Michigan's
oldest summer stock theatre.
Gull Lake is within easy driving distance of both Detroit and
Chicago via I-94. Gull Lake is indeed more than just a home, it
is truly a wonderful lifestyle.
